This is my first file on the series on teaching and introducing cvc words to kids with autism.
We have 2 methods that are more typically used the first and better with low functioning kids is the pure and simple memorizing.
And the second one is with pictures and a lot of repetition. (coming soon)
But for discrete trials these are great.
First we have a match activity and later you can use as a complete the word activity once they learn to match and get familiar with the words.
I give some tips.
Also flash cards to laminate and do discrete trials with we have to start slow and build up the vocabulary.
Then we have some activities to test if they know the words doing a simple connect the words and last
if you kids are verbal read in different order.
Simple but effective more coming soon using many different methods.
With a lot of work and repetition Autistic kids can learn how to read !
