Students need to isolate and produce beginning, middle and ending sounds in single-syllable words. A step to get our students there, they need to hear the long vowel sounds in cvce words and know how they are represented in words. This pocket chart activity is great for whole group instruction, small group instruction or at literacy stations.
Included: five header cards, 153 cvce picture cards, 153 cvce word cards, and a student sheet to practice using these words in a sentence. I have included 3 student sheets. One using the term 'cvce', one with the term 'magic e' and one with the term 'silent e'. Pick the one that matches the term you prefer to use with your students. Also included is a sheet listing the names of all of the pictures by vowel sounds.
