This is an 18 page packet that includes:
Page 1: Cover
Page 2: Interactive Notebook page of explanation
Pages 3-6: Color cards with short vowel word and picture with silent e flap (fold on the dotted lines). When flap is unfolded, there is a silent e with a picture showing the long vowel word. These can be used with individuals or groups to teach or reinforce the concept of silent e. These pages can be used in an interactive notebook by gluing the cards and leaving the flaps loose for folding. If using them for a center activity, laminate for durability. (Short and long e are not included in this section because there aren't enough words for adequate illustrations.)
Pages 7-10: Individual flip charts (no pictures) to practice the short vowel word followed by the long vowel word. Cut out the whole chart, cut on all the dotted lines, then fold on the line that says 'fold' to create the flaps. (all main vowels included) This can be used as a separate activity or as an interactive notebook page by gluing it on the notebook page and leaving the flaps loose for practice.
Pages 11-15: Cut and paste word sorts (all five main vowels included: ie. a and a_e; e and e_e, etc.)
Pages 16-17: Cloze worksheets where students read, then circle and write the answer. They choose and illustrate one sentence at the bottom of the page.
