Allow students to be creative while showing their knowledge of organisms, classification, cell type/organelles, adaptations, and more! This is a great cumulative activity to pull together many biology topics and assess if students are able to apply them appropriately as they create a new organism.
Students will name their own organism (binomial nomenclature) and classify it into a kingdom. Based on that classification, cell type (prokayotic or eurakyotic) and organelles should be listed; food source and reproduction also follow. Biomes and adaptations are included to put the new organism into an environment where it could survive and prompt the student to justify the placement of the organism there.
