The beginning of the school year can be summed up simply by saying rules and procedures! However, it doesn't begin and end just within the classroom - it includes the cafeteria, as well! Often, students forget proper cafeteria behavior but easily review and help your students be ready with this movement game and craft!.
→ Movement Game - display each slide full screen onto class Smartboard and/or projector. Read each cafeteria scenario with your students and give them time to decide whether the statement is a yes choice or a no choice for the cafeteria. Students will simply stand or sit to give their answer.
This is a fun and interactive way to review appropriate behaviors while also providing discussion opportunities. There are 18 slides for game use.
→ Cafeteria Choices Craft - After reviewing appropriate cafeteria choices with the movement game, ask students to complete a fun craftivity!
Option ONE: Students will complete a "lunch box" craft (print on colored or white copy paper). Students will cut, sort, and glue given cafeteria choices as yes or no behaviors.
Option TWO: Students will complete a "lunch box" craft (print on colored or white copy paper). Students will then write why it's important to make good cafeteria choices.
