Very similar to a well-known game show, this game is a great way to review. Whether it is the beginning of the school year or a test is coming up, this game allows all students to participate on a differentiated level. The topics and questions are extremely easy to customize. Best of all- the links will take you to the question, then the answer, and back to the game board. No searching for questions!
To play, split students into groups of about 3 or 4. Each group receives a whiteboard, a dry-erase marker, and an eraser (I use old dryer sheets). After they pick their team names (in Spanish), I pick a group to pick the first topic. Each group gets the chance to write down the answer (while I play music) and when the music stops, they hold up their whiteboard. Any teams that have the correct answer, get the points. As we continue, I let each group choose the category and the amount (in Euros). When one question is left, I have groups wager the amount of points up to the amount that they currently have. This way, any group can still win (this makes the game less frustrating for teams that do not excel as much as others). Of course, this is how I play. The great part about this game is how easy it is to tailor to fit different teaching styles and classes.
