Calculus Tangents for Parametric Equations
This product is designed for AP Calculus BC or College Calculus 2. Students use the formulas for derivatives of parametric equations to find derivatives and them apply the derivative at a particular point to find the equation of tangent lines. They also determine where a parametric curve has vertical and horizontal tangents.
Included in the lesson:
* 10 Task or Station cards plus one blank for you to personalize if you choose. There are ten questions. For #1 – 8 students find a tangent line to a parametric curve at a specific value of t. #9 and #10 have students determine the rectangular points at which the parametric curve has vertical and horizontal tangents

•A matching worksheet with room for solutions if you choose not to use cards.
•Student response sheet with room for work
Please note: A strong background in Parametrics is needed for your students who will be taking Multivariable or College Calculus 3.
