Calculus First and Second Derivative Tests Flip Book Foldable
This Foldable Flip Book reviews and reinforces the First and Second Derivative Test, as well as Concavity usually taught in Unit 3, Applications of the Derivative. It is usually taught right before Optimization.
There are definitions, formulas, examples, and a problem for students to complete plus summaries on End Behavior to help student sketch. My students used to have so much trouble with these sections. Now the rules are presented visually and in a compact organized fashion. They love Flip Books. This makes a great study guide now and again for AP review later.
Also included is the solution key.
The Flip Book is a perfect size for traditional or Interactive Notebooks, or just to use for studying before a test. Final size 4¼″ x 6½″. One of my latest, greatest ideas is to have the students use a tiny Velcro(r) self stick spot to attach the Flip Book to a page in their notebooks. Easy on - easy off and they don't loose this valuable resource.
This is so easy to make, no glue, no mess. Students can make it at their desks. Print one page double-sided, make one cut, fold, staple – tah dah!! Great practice and lots of fun!
