A pairs / small group activity for students to practice what they know about limits.

Each group gets a formula for a piecewise-defined function and 18 cards. They must determine which six cards are true for their function. As an extension, groups who finish can be assigned a set of six of the remaining cards and create a function that has those properties.

The file contains detailed instructions as well as an answer key. Each card has a letter written on it, which allows teachers to quickly check answers by remembering the word that should be spelled by the correct set of cards.
