Volume of Revolution by Cylindrical Shells - Task Cards and Notes
This great activity is designed for Calculus 1, AP Calculus, and Calculus Honors. It is part of Unit 6, Applications to Integration. In this activity, students will use the method of Cylindrical Shells to find the volume of revolution. Some of the problems have diagrams and others are left for the students to graph themselves. I have always found that my students need extra practice with this topic. Having them work together with these problems has always has clarified the topic for them.
✓ Task Cards: There are 12 Task Cards including revolution about the x-axis, y-axis, and revolving about a line other than the x and y axes. These are great as Station Cards, also.
✓ Student response sheet with room for work. They are unnumbered so you can choose the cards selectively.
