Calculus Volume of Revolution Disks, Washers, and Shells
This bundle of activities is designed AP Calculus AB , Calculus BC, or College Calculus 2. It is part of Unit 6, Application of Integration.
Students determine the volume of a solid of revolution by using Disk, Washer, and Cylindrical Shells methods
. For some of the problems, students must graph and sketch, and for the others graphs are included.
The worksheet problems are typed two to a page as at this level of mathematics, many students need lots of room. The solutions work out very nicely with fractions of pi and no irrational numbers. The integration level is basic. It is presumed this unit is covered before the chapter on techniques of integration.
I have also included is a full color graphic organizer which students can cut and paste into their notebooks.
✓ 10 Task Cards which include finding the volume of revolution with the disk, washer and shell method.
✓ Matching worksheet
✓ Full Solutions
✓ Additional Quiz or Worksheet with six questions and room for students to show work.
✓ Graphic Organizer with section formulas and diagrams.
