PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Calculus students often have difficulty sorting out the rotational solid volume of shapes using cylindrical shells or washer/disc method as they rotate the regions around the x or y axis. This organizational chart allows them to work on a single question using all four possible arrangements. Students understanding is clarified and they can use the document as they progress in the course to check their work.

Students are asked to rotate a single region, R, around the x axis using the shell method, then the washer method. They then rotate R around the y axis using shell and then washer/disc method. Having one document with all possibilities becomes very helpful for them.

Answer key is included. 2 pages of .doc plus 2 pages of answers.
