GREAT Geometry activity!
This resource is an excellent math-tivity for the new year (or any time).
You and your students can create a dodecahedron (a twelve sided figure).
What better purpose for a dodecahedron than a calendar of the months of school?
PRINT out an entire year OR since there are only 10 or 11 months during the school year, you can use the extra face(s) for a favorite phrase or a picture of your school mascot... whatever!
These are not hard to make; print ... cut ..... assemble!
Assembly is easy with double sided tape (or glue tape) and can be done in one class period. It is always interesting to watch students devise a logical assembly method (Join together two sets of 6 faces and then join the halves).
PLUS these dodecahedra open the discussion about polyhedra (how often have you tried to get that conversation started?).
I’ve included a fact sheet to share or to use as an encouragement for discovery of the attributes of this platonic solid.
This latest version includes January - December 2017
My goal is to update this calendar every year, so once you buy, you can download an updated version with each new year.
