Make calendar time fun! If you have trouble engaging kids during calendar time; try using calendar books! It is a great way to get kids involved and build math skills during calendar time.
**New this month**
I am starting a write the date page. I’m going to teach my kids the short way to write the date. I often tell them this is how they will write it as an adult. Ex. 3-1-13 and then I’m going to have them write it with words. So it will say “Friday, March 1,2013. We will focus on Capital letters on months and days of the week. It will add a little writing to calendar books but not too much that it takes too long.
I worked hard to differentiate the problem of the day and make some of the them more challenging than others. I made them to meet with Common Core Standards for Kindergarten. Pages included are calendar, days of the week, months of the year, tally the weather, build the day; the 10’s frame way, write the date, 24 problem of the day.
