Use these fall themed calendar cards for those first few months of school and squeeze in a minilesson on patterns each day as you teach the date! I always chose a new pattern for the month (AB, ABC, AABB) and prepped my cards ahead of time by writing the numbers on them with a dry erase marker. I kept the cards hidden and had my students predict the next day’s card based on the patterns they were noticing. Check out the tips below for more quick and easy ways to prep and implement!
-Print on cardstock and laminate for easy reuse and flexibility in pattern choice. -Write on with dry or wet erase markers.
-Use colored cardstock for color patterns.
-If you have a calendar without pockets, push in sewing pins at the top of each box on your calendar. Hole punch the top of each card and hang.
-Use the blank cards to prep special events, birthdays and holidays at the start of each month so you don’t forget! Hang them on the calendar at the beginning of the month so you can see them approaching.
-Use as blackline masters for pattern center activities.
-Black & white copies for more color options and affordable printing and copying.
-3 pages with 3 different images (apple, pencil, books)
-1 page with blank cards for writing in special events.
