Starting your day with calendar math is a great way to set the tone for the day and get the kids' brains ready to learn. This item includes twelve sets of 31 day tiles to put in your calendar pockets.
The tiles are 2.5" x 2.5", and they are not labeled by month, so you can use them in an order that best fits your district's pacing guide. Each set has a different focus:
1-identifying pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters
2-rotation/turn of figures
4-A/B pattern and spelling
6-city, state, country, continent
8- A/B pattern and rotation/turn of figures
9-points, line segment, line, ray
10-flip/reflection, turn/rotation, slide/translation
11-synonyms, antonyms, homographs, homophones
Colors, position, and many other things change, which will give you and your students much to discuss! There are even yellow dots on some sets which will have kids counting by 2, 3, 4, and other numbers. While I created this set to specifically target 3rd grade, it can be adapted to go higher or lower.
