Use this as a weekly math review, morning work, math center, or homework. Each of the 4 boxes focuses on a different mental math skill including counting money, telling time, building arrays, and using operations to get to a target number.
To differentiate, use the Brain Builder as a challenge. Students are to come up with as many different ways to get the target number as an answer. Higher level students can be asked to use certain operation, multiple operations, etc.
I used this as morning work in 3rd grade, and we discussed the answers as a class, giving students multiple opportunities to hear and see different answers.
