Product Description
For Children in primary grades, calendar is still a very abstract idea. In our classrooms, we review the calendar every day and call out days of the week and months of the year. We use our countdown activities
( https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Countdown-3282085 )
to arrive at special days in the month and school year. Still, the calendar remains a flat object on the board whose concept can be difficult for some to grasp. In this month-to-month activity unit, students can explore the calendar by filling in the dates of the month. They will learn which months have 28, 29, 30, or 31 days. They will learn how to fill in the month in that not every month begins on Sunday or Monday. As you practice with them throughout the year, students have the chance to explore the calendar and become more familiar with the concept.
In this packet I have included two months for August and September, depending on which month you begin your school year. I have included 2 months for December for the holidays, with and without. There are two months for March and April depending on which month you have spring break and July is included as an extra activity.
In addition the packet includes the months with and without color in case you would like your students to color in their own calendars.
These calendars can be used as a singular monthly activity or you can save throughout the year and create a booklet to send home with the students at the end of the school year.
I hope you enjoy this packet as much as my students do. Please remember to leave feedback and let us know how we are doing!
