Want a great way to work a little more math and science into your daily routine? Use this calendar and weather book updated for the 2016-2017 school year!
Each month (August through June) has one page to graph the daily temperature and one page to graph the types of weather. Students can choose sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rainy, stormy, or snowy. Each month also includes spaces to make two observations about the weather and answer two questions about the calendar.
The temperatures are graphed in increments of 5's, and weather is in increments of 2's. I've used this with second and third grade, and both can do this very well by the end of the year.
August and September have labels on the graphs to help ease students into the calendar. As the months progress, students are weaned off most of the labels.
Pages can be copied double-sided and stapled or bound on the top of the long edge of size 8.5 x 11 paper.
