This is a 42 page package included charts, posters and questions that you answer daily about the month/day/date, season, attendance, the day of school, and the weather. Perfect for decorating your room at the beginning of the year! I print all of the pages in color and laminate them, then use sticky tack and dry erase markers with them on a daily basis (the sticky tack for attaching labels and the dry erase markers for filling in the charts). All charts are designed to be the same vertical length when printed/assembled for a consistent, uniform look on your walls! They all match, with pale blue as the prominent color, decorated with crayons, apples and letter/number blocks.
~Pages 2 and 3 are pasted together (2 on top). Page 2 says “Today is”, “Yesterday was” and “Tomorrow will be” and is intended to be used with the Sunday - Saturday labels. Page 3 asks attendance questions (Number of boys, girls, and total) that is intended to be used with the number labels. Numbers 0 - 31 are included. The square between boy and girl attendance is for using the <, >, and = labels. All labels are included on pages 22 - 29.
~Pages 4 and 5 are pasted together (4 on top). Page 4 asks about the season, month and date, and is intended to be used with the season, month and number labels provided on pages 22 - 29. It also asks how many days we have been in school and how many are left, which you answer with the dry erase marker. Page 5 has an attached box (pages 6-7) for holding thin straws or tongue depressers that I use to keep count of the days we have been in class. The box is on page 6 with directions for assembling it on page 7.
~Pages 8 and 9 are a 180 day chart with 180 numbered squares. You cut page 9 on the dotted lines and attach to the bottom of page 8. I color one square per day with my kids to count the number of days we have been in class.
~Pages 10 and 11 are a 180 day 10-frame chart. There are 18 separate 10-frame charts. I color in one square per day with my kids to count the number of days we have been in class. I use this in conjunction to the chart on pages 8-9, but you could use one instead of the other.
~Pages 12 through 21 are “Words of the month” sheets fro August through May. Each one has the month written across the top with images appropriate to that time of year. Each has three columns for writing in seasonal words. Personally, I write the high frequency words we are working on on the left, and seasonal or enrichment words in the other two columns.
~Pages 22 through 29 include all of the labels necessary for the previous charts (days of the week, seasons, numbers and months). I include numbers 0 - 31, which you can print multiple times to have enough sets to answer all of the questions.
~Page 30 says “Today’s weather is”, “Yesterday’s weather was” and “I think tomorrow’s weather will be” and is intended to be used with the labels on pages 31 and 32. Weather labels include the words stormy, windy, cloudy, rainy, snowy and sunny, along with associated images. Students can sticky tack each word and image onto the page. You can print 3 sets of the labels if you have consistent weather!
~Pages 33 and 34 are a weather chart. It has the space to graph the weather 1 month at a time with the graph going up to 25, labeled by 5s. Includes stormy, windy, cloudy, rainy, snowy and sunny to match the previous activity.
~Pages 35 and 36 are a book about weather, with 8 pages (4 per printed page). It is called “My weather book” and has a page for stormy, windy, cloudy, rainy, snowy and sunny. Each page has the word, image and space for the students to write that word. The last page is for them to write their favorite weather. Intended to be stapled on the left side of the book. Provided in color on pages 35 and 36, then in black and white for students to color on pages 37 and 38.
~Pages 39 through 42 are small monthly calendar strips (3 per page) for the teacher’s use with the 2013 - 2014 dates of generally celebrated/noted events and space for writing in dates.
