Students travel through the California Gold Rush, investigate life as a 49er, and complete a final project merging historical facts and narrative writing.
This is an adventure through the 1859 Gold Rush! Student's will experience life as a 49er while learning about California History.
Key standards addressed
Students will compare primary sources, read about various topics, make decisions as a team, answer questions covering a wide range of 4th Grade Social Studies Standards, and participate in fun, engaging activities to earn (and sometimes lose) Gold Nuggets.
This packet gives students a chance to answer questions in both written response and fill in the blank form. It will assess their ability to recall vital facts from CA Social Studies Standards and will also give them a chance to analyze information given to them through primary sources.
This is currently only available as a PDF file but will soon be available in other forms to allow students to answer questions digitally.
After completing this unit, have a Gold Rush Day celebration with my California Gold Rush Day
