Students will use their social studies skills to collect the facts, analyze the images, read and draw conclusions with the guidance of the teacher. Students will first review the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 then analyze artwork, generate questions, and find the answers in the history of the gold rush article as told by the owner of the land, John Sutter.
