Students solve this crossword by providing synonyms and antonyms for 25 vocabulary words from CALL IT COURAGE. Each clue contains a vocabulary word and the sentence it is used in from the book.
Examples of clues:
* He sighed and sank back on the mossy bank, RELISHING the strength that quickened his tired body. (ant.) ANSWER: disliking
* It was the season of hurricane and the people of Hikueru were … charged, it seemed, with an almost animal awareness of IMPENDING storm. (syn.) ANSWER: approaching
* The canoe lifted and fell IDLY on the glassy swells. (syn.) ANSWER: lazily
* The sea was sparkling and BENIGN. (ant.) ANSWER: cruel
