You Will Need...
you will need…
♥ Empty water bottles
♥ Warm water
♥ Something to keep the water in (measuring cup, mug)
♥ Loose glitter
♥ Glitter Glue
♥ Food coloring
♥ A funnel to add the glitter.
♥ Optional: hot glue to seal the lid on tight
♥ Newspaper or paper to cover the tables (I love glitter but not cleaning it....)

To Use:
♥ First, I would recommend putting down some newspaper on the tables in case of glitter spillage… learn from my mistake.
♥ Print and cut out the steps. I put the numbers in the correct order in the pocket chart. I like to tell my students that the steps came out of order and they need to help me put them together so we can make our calm down bottle. Or you can just have them in the correct order ready to go!
♥ Follow the steps in order on the answer key to assemble the bottles with your students
♥ I would recommend making one yourself first so students can see what it should look like and you can get a good idea of how much glitter, water, etc. to add. Below I have included the ratio I used but it can always change depending on the size of your bottles.
♥ Optional: add some hot glue around the lid to make sure the lids stay on tight.
♥ Optional: add the tags!

Questions/concerns you may have before purchasing...
♥How much of each supply do we need to use?
Well.. That depends on the size of your bottle. I filled the bottles with water a little over 3/4 full. I added about 3 drops of food coloring. Glitter and glitter glue really depends on your preference and how much you have available. Be sure to show your students how to ”sprinkle”

♥ But I don’t want ALL of my students making a bottle! It’s too much! What can I do?!?
I would recommend just making one bottle all together as a class! Still fun and you can keep it in a special place for student use throughout the year!

♥ Why does the water need to be warm?
It helps to separate the glitter! It's not completely necessary but it helps!

♥ No pocket chart? No problem!
Just glue the steps in order on a poster board as you sequence!
