Take a deep breath! That is a common phrase heard when an individual is stressed, upset of simply overwhelmed. While extraordinarily effective at calming the body, it can be difficult for children and and youth if it isn't practiced. These calming breath cards provide a variety of different ways for children to practice breathing. Then when they are feeling distressed, they can implement the techniques with greater ease and success. In my practice, we use these cards in many classroom calming corner and they are an important part of our classroom calming kit.
