Are you doing a camping day in your classroom? I've created a "math mission" filled with camping themed centers perfect for a review for first graders at the end of the year, or at the beginning of second grade to get things started. These centers can be used throughout a week, or for a full day of camping fun! The great part of this resource is that you can make it work for YOU! You can go all out and create an entire classroom campsite (perfect if you’re doing a full day of camping activities), or add some fun props just for your math time. You don’t even need to add anything if you don’t want to!
There a six different centers that work on a variety of skills and concepts. You can print the materials in color, or in black and white (maybe on brightly colored paper!). I included a way to add more fun into each center, as well. There are signs for each campsite, and I kept the recording sheets to a minimum so it is easier for you and your students.
S’more Place Value – 2-digit expanded form
Gone Fishing – addition and subtraction
Lift the Log – more/less problems
TIME to go Camping – time to the hour and half-hour
Numbers Hike – word problems
Tent Friends – missing addends; addition and subtraction
All 6 centers include ways to add something "extra" to each activity, as well as different ways to use the center.
Check out the preview to see what's included!
I've also got great nonfiction texts to go along with a camping theme. Check them out here!
