Included in this game:
Tents with different category groups that have pictures
6 stimulus cards for each category. Categories included are breakfast food, art supplies, insects, fruit, beach items, desserts, animals, birthday, clothing, school supplies, vehicles, tools, body parts, sports, jobs, and colors (16 categories!).
Directions for the game: Students pick up a card from the draw pile and put the sleeping bag in the correct tent. This is a receptive language task that can be used as to work on categories for students who are not yet able to expressively name items in a category.
Roasting Marshmallows: Category Game
54 game cards with different categories listed on each card
A sheet of game cards
Directions: All the kids are camping and it’s time to roast some marshmallows! Be the camper to roast the most marshmallows to win the game. If you pick a s’mores card, you take an extra turn. If you grabbed the camper roasting marshmallows, you lose a turn because your marshmallow burnt your tongue! Give a card to another player because your marshmallow fell in the fire. As the students pick a card, they have to name an item or many items from that category. This is a good carry over activity to see if skills have generalized.
