Do your students love the “headbands” game? Mine do! I made this camping themed game for my class. Each year, our school plans a week called “Camp Read-A-Lot” which focuses on reading , camping, and fun! It’s a great theme to end the school year!
This product includes the cards needed for the game. You will also need to make or get headbands from the board game.
It’s easy to make headbands. I made some from sentence strips and library pockets. It’s not necessary to have a pocket, but I think it makes it a little more sturdy.
I laminated my headbands for durability. If you don’t use a library pocket, you can simply put a slit in the headband and slide the card in place.
To play the game, one student wears a headband with a card inserted. Make sure this student does not see the picture before placing in the pocket or slit. The other students give clues about the card (without using the name of the card). It’s a great game for inferring as well as using descriptive words. You can play as a whole class or in small groups.
There are 24 cards included in this set.
