Product Description
To extend and apply student knowledge of poetic devices, as well as the importance of hearing a poem, students are asked to watch three out of five slam poem performances. For their selected pieces, students can identify poetic devices used to make an impact on the following topics: homelessness, male body image, 9/11 and stereotypes, prison system, and discrimination. Students are asked to explain how the poem can be transformative for an audience. This is a great pre-writing activity for teachers who want to inspire their students to write their own social justice poetry.

Students need a QR scanner to retrieve the links and watch their selected poem performances.
