There is a lot of activity these days on the idea of de-extinction (resurrection) of extinct animals like the Woolly Mammoth, Dodo bird, Tasmanian Tiger, etc. It is such an interesting subject and one that I am enthralled with! The Book "How to Clone a Mammoth" by Beth Shapiro, TV documentaries, Movies, etc. are getting the public interested in this venture. It is not only interesting, but it would be a great sub lesson, intro lesson, etc. to your DNA and genetic engineering discussions. The two diagrams included in the article, found on-line have been blown up into larger diagrams on the last sheet in case you want the students to have a more clear representation. Questions are included at the end.
