For this activity, the students will determine the correct compound word that matches the picture on each of the cards. The students will clip a clothes pin on the second word on each card; therefore they can combine the first and second word on each card, creating a compound word. (The picture cards would be more durable if printed on card stock and laminated.)
Instead of using a clothes pin, you can also use a dry erase marker to connect the first and second words, creating the compound words (as long as you laminate the cards).
After clipping the correct compound words, the students will choose 10 compound words to record on the provided worksheet. They will further choose one of the compound words and write it within a complete sentence.
