This is a power point that will help students understand the different types of variables involved in the scientific method, and why it is important to have variables for a fair test. Each slide gives an example of a scientific question. Based on the question, students will determine the independent variable, control, and dependent variable. The answers will be displayed upon the click of the mouse. The last slide allows students to come up with their own testable scientific question and the variables that would be needed for a fair test.
This power point would work well as a follow-up from my power point titled "Identifying Variables"
It would also be useful for introducing variables and as a review on variables.
