PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

My class LOVED this activity!

This activity was used in a Sounds unit in Science. Students use the website http://www.wildmusic.org/en/soundscapes to build their own soundscape. First, students must try to decifer between the sounds each button makes. They have to try to decide if the sounds are natural or artificial. As well, they must try to guess what each sounds is. Finally, students need to create their own soundscape, using a variety of buttons and volume levels. They must create a soundscape for a forest setting (probably all natural sounds) and a city setting (probably a combination of natural and artificial sounds).

I also had my students take pictures of their computer screens with iPads and upload the pictures to their own Google Drive accounts. From there, students copied them into their online science journal and were able to discuss what they had learned.
