To celebrate Canada’s upcoming 150th anniversary, this fun set includes 4 cootie catchers with trivia about the symbols, government, geography, and currency of Canada.
To begin the activity, students must fold the cootie catchers. In pairs the first partner can have the other choose a capital city. The first partner spells out that city name while moving the flaps in and out. The second partner can then choose a number and then another number while the first moves the flaps for each count. The second partner can then choose a final number that reveals a trivia question to the first partner. The first partner should hide and ask this question aloud to the second, as the answer is included underneath. Partners can then switch roles.
To make the activity more engaging, partners can be given different versions of the cootie catchers.
