This activity can be used as a social studies centre or as an early finisher activity! This can be played in small groups of up to 6 students. You could make multiple sets and have a few groups play at the same time.
Each player gets a game board and 8 unifix cubes or bingo chips. The group decides what type of game they will play (see options on next page). Place the calling cards in a pile face down. Students take turns flipping a card over and reading the Canadian symbol word. Great for practicing social studies vocabulary. Everyone who has that picture on their card covers it with a cube. The first player to cover the desired pattern is the winner!
