Teaching social studies and science can be difficult to get to each day unless you can teach them simultaneously. I have come up with a way to do just that! My class takes a virtual world tour. With each country that we visit and learn about, we also study a relating science unit. I begin the year with animals and different habitats. The first country we "visit" is Canada. We start slowly, so this study guide and test are simpler than the ones progressing through the year are. The kids fill in the study guide each day as I go through slides on a flipchart. We just do a few each day and then do related activities/reading. When the study guide is complete, they take it home and study for the test. In Canada we study the conifer forest habitat. Hope you like it. More units on the way.
