Turn your classroom into a virtual museum that helps students understand what life was like during the 1950s!
A variety of stations are set-up around the classroom (see image for classroom set-up). Each station contains a QR code (and Google search term, if needed), and reflection questions for student to respond to on the provided tracking sheet.
Students scan the QR code with their phone and it takes them to the online resource which they analyze.
The stations topics included:
- Golden Oldies of the 1950s!
- The Story of Bill Barilko
- The Avro Arrow
- The Effects of a Nuclear Attack
- Preparing for a Nuclear Attack (resource from the CDN Government)
- Leave it to Beaver!
In addition, a quick interactive lecture with trivia questions is provided as a hook to start the activity. The entire lesson is tested and proven to work! Very clear teacher instructions provided on how to update or change the links, if desired.
If you are interested in the who unit check out the link below! An entire course is also available.
