This set of 26 graphic organizers is very versatile – they can be used in a number of ways. This product about Canada’s 10 provinces and 3 territories is suitable for both Canadian students and students outside of Canada who are studying the country’s geography and/or history.
There are two graphic organizers for each province and territory:
--- the first one covers human and physical geography facts and --- the second is political and historical.
Students can use the organizers during the course of studying Canada’s provinces and territories or they can be used as an end in themselves - and there is a wide range of topics than can be covered one at a time if you choose. I have also made the graphic organizers so that you can use them to suit your own needs - for example, students can be assigned to include a specific geographical feature or a specific historical event - or topics can be left wide open for the student to explore. With this in mind, the answer key includes both specific facts (e.g. population numbers - which are from the 2011 census) and suggestions for the broader topics of geographic features and historic events.
--- The second component of this product is a “Ten True and Five False” activity for the provinces and territories - it complements the graphic organizers well. (It is also included in a separate product in my store – Canadian Social Studies Activities – Set of 3). Students are provided with a number of statements with information and decide if they are true of false.
I have many more social studies/history/civics resources in my store. Some of them may be seen in the following bundles:
