With the recent Canadian elections now over (2015/2016) and a new Canadian government in place (Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government majority) this lesson plan on the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom is a good starting point to get your students interested in the Canadian government and history. This package includes a PowerPoint presentation and a lesson plan for teachers to follow. The presentation and lesson plan includes a basic description of the charter of rights and freedom and an activity for students to encourage them to start thinking about their rights to internalize the lesson. Knowledge of citizen rights is the right of every citizen and the best way to be well informed of them is to learn about them at a young age. The presentation includes a few online resources that can be used by both students and teachers to gain additional knowledge.
The lesson plan for teachers I hope will help in ensuring the lesson plan is executed smoothly. This will cover about 90 minutes of class time.
Please do provide feedback and I will strive to respond to each and every one of your questions and concerns. Your feedback will help me improve myself and my work to ensure I provide higher quality work in the future.
