This product features13 cootie catchers (fortune tellers) representing
the 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada. Cootie catchers include
questions about the history and symbols of each province and
To begin the activity, students must fold the cootie catchers. In pairs
the first partner can have the other choose a vocabulary word
(Canada, province, territory, capital city name). The first partner spells
out the word while moving the flaps in and out. The second partner
can then choose a number and then another number while the first
moves the flaps for each count. The second partner can then choose
a final number that reveals a question to the first partner. The first
partner should hide and ask this question aloud to the second, as
the answer is included underneath. Partners can then switch roles.
Answer recording sheets are also provided.
