Canadian Fur Trade Game

This is a fun roleplay game introducing students to the beaver pelt trade in Canada.

This activity includes a five minute animated movie that explains how the fur trade started, how Made Beaver Tokens were used and the dynamic of a Canadian trading post in in the 17th and 18th century.

The game includes rules as well as a price list of tools that Native Canadians are likely to want to purchase. You can simply distribute the rules of the game (includes a price list of items) and let the students do the rest!

I just added an additional file entitled "Trade_Post_Background". This file is for lower-level learners who cannot comprehend all of my lengthy instructions. Here, I show the movie to the students and them ask the students to use the vocabulary on the last slide of "Trade_Post_Background", and have a conversation.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
