This is a six page flip book. First, students cut on the dotted lines to create the 6 pages. Second, have students assemble the book. To assemble, I have students stack pages from largest to smallest. Lastly place a couple of staples along the side near the ā€œL," on the left hand side. See the next page for a diagram.

Show a video, have students read their textbooks, read aloud books or have students research on the internet to find information to respond to the prompts printed on each page.


The Flip Books Contain the following questions for students to respond to:

Page 1: Blank, except for the ā€œLā€.

Page 2: What is government?

Page 3: Local Government: What is the title of the person who heads the local government?
What are local elected officials called?
What are some of the responsibilities of this level?
Where does this level of government meet?


Page 4: Provincial Government: What is the title of the person who heads the provincial government?
What are provincial elected officials called?
What are some of the responsibilities of this level?
Where does this level of government meet?

Page 5: Federal Government: What is the title of the person who heads the federal government?
What are federal elected officials called?
What are some of the responsibilities of this level?
Where does this level of government meet?

Page 6: Which level of government is most important to you? To your family? To your community?
