Product Description
Supplement your Math money unit with these Canadian money activities. Activities work well at Math centres, for independent practice, or in tutoring. Students will learn to identify and describe Canadian coins and will represent money amounts up to 100 cents.

This resource was designed with Grade 1 and Grade 2 in mind. The activities come with variations for Grade 1 (up to 20 cents) and Grade 2 (up to 100 cents). The use of pennies is optional with each activity.

What's included:
Coin Puzzles:
• match the coin name, image, and value

4 Hundreds Chart activities:
• skip count by nickels, skip count by dimes, skip count by quarters, and mark the value of each coin

Donut Shop Game:
• flip over a donut card to see its cost; pay cashiers, Bill and Millicent, using a different combination of coins. Can be played independently or with a partner.
• represent and compose the cost of a donut in different ways using coins, pictures, words, and numbers

Carnival Game:
• read the magician's clue and guess which coins he has hidden (i.e. "I have 2 coins that equal 10 cents. What are they?")
• represent and decompose money amounts using coins, pictures, words, and numbers
