I'm always looking for ways to provide cross curricular learning for my students as I feel it engages students more as well as helps me hit multiple outcomes in a single assessment. With this in mind, I created 48 math task cards tied directly to learning about the regions of Canada.
Included in this pack:
1. 48 task cards (8 for each region) that tie directly into learning and reviewing important dates, concepts, people and events related to that region as well as ask students to solve a math problem related to the topic covered
2.Two different student response pages (1 response page includes 8 spots so you can do each region on it's own, the second set of response pages includes enough spots for students to answer all the questions in two pages if you are using this product as a full region review)
3. Two different sets of answer keys so you don't have flip back and forth depending on which student response page you handed out.
Math concepts covered: addition, subtraction, multiplication (no double digit multiplication, though there are some 2/3/4/5 digit by 1 digit questions present), division, money, time and representing large numbers
This product also provides students a clear opportunity to showcase their comprehension skills as the questions require students to use information in the question to correctly solve the problem.
These task cards can be used as a whole class project as well as individual assessment, math centers, work for early finishers or review for students who are struggling. Perfect to print once and post around the room to get your students out of their desks or feel free to print a copy for each student and have them paste into their math workbook.
