Canadian Totem Poles
Our K-5 Global Gateway lesson plans are student-centered and follow a PBI structure of:

In the lesson, Canadian Totem Poles, students will explore the culture of the First Nations Peoples of Canada through the investigation and creation of Totem Poles.
1) Understand the significance of totem poles in the culture of the First Nations of Canada.
2) Present their learning by creating a totem pole to show their own characteristics and the characteristics of their families.
3) Describe their totem pole and tell about how it represents them and their families.
