PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Use any type of small round candy (M&;Ms, Skittles, Smarties, etc.) to construct arrays, showing how division and multiplication are related operations.

On the second page, there are problems that help kids relate multiplication to division using a set quantity of candy to create different arrays.

You will need 40 small candies (if using Smarties, three rolls should do it, as they contain about 15 in each package) for each child.

There is a great YouTube video by a teacher who uses Minecraft to create arrays. I played it before doing the activity and my fifth graders were really engaged!
