I started this project because my students and I have always loved a good Data Day! This Candy Corn Math Project can be used in the month of October as a festive and cute holiday project around Halloween. All you have to do is provide students with candy corn and Indian corn, and then watch them have fun using data collection and counting skills to complete all the worksheets. This project provides practice with skip counting, sorting, tally marks, graphing, addition/subtraction number stories, probability, adding, subtracting, finding missing addends, representing number sentences, even and odd numbers, reading number words, geometry, and money. Materials include worksheets, gameboards, graph paper, writing paper for number story books, and an art project to create a carry case to take work home.
