Are you looking for a highly-engaging lesson for Valentine's Day or Halloween? This Bar Graph Candy Activity is just what you need!
Included in this packet are five print-and-go sheets to help your students make both vertical and horizontal bar graphs. There is even a sheet to help them sort their candy by color.
At the end of their graphing, students can write sentences about their data on the included Observation Sheet. Sentence starters are included to help.
All you will need to provide is a snack size back of candy in various colors: Skittles, M&Ms, Reeses Pieces jelly beans, hearts, etc. are perfect!
Take a look at the preview to see all pages included. You can choose all vertical or horizontal, or mix-and-match!
Students will begin by making a prediction bar graph. They will then sort by color on the sorting page. The last sheet is for their final tallies of colors.
The best part is having your students eat their data at the end!
