Our little ones LOVE to play games. And, whenever we can strategically insert relevant core curriculum into those games, magic happens! Well, that's what we have here with the help of the game Candy Land.
Kids from preschool to 6th grade like this simple and visually appealing game. Use the original game board to play, but use these sight word playing cards instead of the original ones. Students must read the word correctly to be able to advance to the color shown on the card. I've also included the special jump ahead cards for the recent game version and the one from the 80's (for those who still have theirs, like me!), so no need to dig around the original pink cards.
Simply print, cut, and laminate the 52 word cards (and 2 blank cards to personalize) to start practicing and reviewing the 52 Dolch Primer sight words. They are:
all, am, are, at, ate, be, black, brown, but, came, did, do, eat, four, get, good, have, he, into, like, must, new, no, now, on, our, out, please, pretty, ran, ride, saw, say, she, so, soon, that, there, they, this, too, under, want, was, well, went, what, white, who, will, with, & yes.
I hope your class enjoys this sight words practice and review as much as mine! :)
