The Candymakers by Wendy Mass is such a fun book! It's very well-written, funny, and touching. It makes a wonderful novel unit for small reading groups and works well with fourth, fifth, sixth grade independent reading levels or can be used as a read aloud or in literature circles. This unit is mostly geared toward fifth grade; however, I've included some activities that align with fourth and sixth grade common core standards.

Some questions are open-ended but most have answers you can reference in the included answer key.
